I realise that this post is a bit old but I just wanted to say that I share your frustration with the community, which is why I left that place. I still lurk around but as for wanting to post my advertisements on there--FORGET IT.

I had made a post with one item that (technically) wasn't an Asian based product, & they deleted my post. I thought perhaps it was a glitch of some sort & posted it again & it was deleted a second time. I finally posted a comment in their stupid F.A.Q. whatever post, basically asking WTF happened to my post & was finally given a response there, & their reply came off sounding very high & mighty.

I wasn't given a warning or anything, though, not even a private message through LJ. I would have been fine with a PM asking if I could remove the item that I listed but no.

I also think they shouldn't have any power over what you sell if it's in your own LJ, selling community, website, etc. Their rules have gone just absolutely absurd & the mods need to lighten the hell up. How else are you supposed to see your stuff?

YES. I have seen other people posting items that are definitely NOT Asian related & yet those post get pushed under the rug! If you're going to enforce the rules, then every single post needs to get the same treatment!

The last post I made in the community was linked to a post I had made in another community, which contained laminated posters from Hong Kong which equals OMG BOOTLEG!!!!!! I figured that since my post wasn't directly posted in GSJ, my bootleg posters would have been fine being sold in that other community. HOW WRONG I WAS. I was told by a mod to remove my posters & I thought, "SCREW THIS CRAP. You can't tell me what I can or cannot sell if it's NOT in the community itself!" So I deleted my post & removed myself from the community. I wasn't going to take anymore of the stupidness that the community has spawned into.

Just out of curiosity, what did you post in the community that pissed off the mods?

As for how I found your post--I was browsing around LJ users/selling journals & whatnot & I randomly clicked on your name in the comments just to see what you had to trade/buy/sell in here. Then I found this post & I just had to comment & agree with you about how stupid GSJ has gotten over the past several months. So far, I thought it was just me who was ticked off by their stupidity. It's nice to see that someone else shares my views about the place!
